El Paso County Public Health

Our agency was established in 1872 as a City Health Department, and then became an organized County Health Department in 1939. We serve all residents and visitors of El Paso County, which includes the cities and towns of Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs, Calhan, Fountain, Green Mountain Falls, Monument, Palmer Lake and Ramah. We are dedicated to protecting health and promoting quality of life through the prevention and control of disease.

Services include: Baby/health nutrition; birth and death certificates; body art (tattoo) facility inspections and licensing, safety classes for artists, and complaint investigations; child safety and development; disease investigation (epidemiology); emergency preparedness and response; immunizations (vaccines for children and adults) international travel clinic; septic system inspections, records and planning; men's reproductive health; retail food establishment inspection and licensing, food safety classes for food handlers, investigations for complaints/reports of illness; tobacco education and prevention; tuberculosis clinic, well water testing, women's reproductive helath, WIC (Nutrition program for Women, Infants, and Children).
